Press release.

Ectaco Inc., the world leader in the development of electronic translators, and electronic books will present their latest developments at two exhibitions - Frankfurt Book Show and the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair.

The exhibition will feature the latest development of the company - JetBook Color. The first electronic textbook in the world created by Ectaco.

The jetBook®Color is the world’s first to utilize eyefriendly color e-Ink technology in an eTextbook Tablet oriented solely towards education. The main screen serves as an ID card for the student displaying a schedule of classes (updated daily via Wi-Fi or 3G), list of student’s and teacher’s notes, homework and classwork, and a designated channel for instant communication with any teacher. The same home screen will boast an application list based on student’s grade and classes with the following topics: My Library, eTextbooks in work, Classwork and Homework, Oxford® Reading Support, Languages and Games, Science and Math. Subsections within these applications will aid students to be on top of their classwork and pair technology with the classroom creating a fully interactive and intellectually stimulating environment connected to worldwide educational resources. This is everything a student will need, and everything that parents and teachers dreamed of.

The jetBook® Color will have the ability to highlight, underline, add notes, and even write on any text or textbook document on the device. What’s impossible and detrimental to a paper textbook is now an opportunity for students to study the way they want without the fear of defacing school property, and schools will never have to keep buying textbooks since these will always stay brand new. Any markings made can be easily erased with a touch of a button. The ability to load your own content to the device is a big plus for educators as well. The
distribution of notes, handouts, or even exams can be done digitally by giving each student an SD Card with the content or sending it to them via e-mail which they can then retrieve and load to their device through a closed network to make sure they are using the jetBook®Color for educational purposes. This saves time, money, and the environment in a big way, especially in the long run as the jetBook®Color becomes used more and more throughout schools.
